Ray is a Board member for the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools (SCAIHS). He has also served as the President of The Education Association of Christian Homeschools (TEACH) in Connecticut and has served on the Board of the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators (NICHE). Ray and his wife began homeschooling their daughters in 1984. They homeschooled them during their primary and secondary education and were advisors for them as they completed their college degrees from home. Ray has worked with homeschool organizations throughout the United States at the local, state, and national level. Ray has spoken at conferences in the USA, writes and blogs on homeschooling.
In addition to his interest in homeschooling, Ray is president and founder of Product & Process Innovation, Inc. which is a training and consulting firm that specializes in innovation management, process improvement, and project management. He has engineering degrees from the US Air Force Academy and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Ray’s client list includes government agencies, large multi-national firms, and small startup companies from around the world. He currently teaches with Worcester Polytechnic Institute in their professional development programs and is a lecturer at the China Institute for Innovation in Shanghai. Ray is author of the book, Guide to Building Your Business Case, published by Harvard Business Review Press and a contributor to the book, Guide to Project Management, also published by Harvard Business Review Press.
